http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/learnshops/digital/movies/survival.m4v

SYNOPSIS
Mary is a nurse that went to Qua-ate to teach back in the eighties. She had to assimilate to survive. She assimilated and appreciated the life of the people. She had a family and she ended up loosing her daughter during the nineties. Iraq and Qua-ate were fighting. Mary continued to teach and survive life without her daughter.

COMMENTS
This story was told from a 1st person perspective. Along with the sound, she added children and crowd sounds to accompany her story. The author was able to connect the media with audiences on an emotional level. She started the story off with her arrival in Qua-ate. The way she was telling the story, one would assume that she was trying to survive Qua-ate. In the end, we learn to find out that her daughter passed away. She is trying to survive life without her daughter. This impacted me as a reader. She kept it short and sweet. The images were real photos taken on her journey. The loss of her daughter really impacted her. Mary makes it own that she is strong and she will continue to keep her strength up.

Magnetic Attraction (Digital Story)

SYNOPSIS
Carol meets her future husband Tom and they instantly fall in love. Tom marries her and he is asked to go to war. The couple are able to stay in touch, but they loose it as the months fly by. The years past and Carol is contacted by Tom. The couple reunite and live happily ever after.

COMMENTS
This story was told from a 1st person perspective. The author did a good job using visual cues to tell the story. She used flowers for her theme. She showed different kind of flowers through out her whole story. Her voice was easy on the ears and interesting to listen too. Since this was her experience, the connection between the story and the readers were strongly wired. The title was a metaphor for their connection. She used it to describe the distance between her and Tom. She compared the strength of the magnet with her distance away from Tom. The images went along well with the story.

Web 2.0 Storytelling Pt.2

Storytelling on the web has opened doors for independent authors. Now you don't have to waste trees for distribution. The concept of Web 2.0 is interesting and very unique for this generation. Everybody with a computer can be a storyteller now. He or she can start off a story and allow the audience to pick it up where it was left off. This is a unique way because the story is being told from all angles. Instead of one author, it could be 10 authors who will write the story down.

For example, the site Lust bites has the freedom that allows readers to join and continue the story. The author starts the story off and the readers continue. In a way, the story turns into a never ending story. The readers that participate can keep the story going as long as the continuity exist. Old fashion storytellers would end their stories and force readers to use their imagination to think beyond the ending. Now a story can be never ending and engage readers to take it to new levels.

Web 2.0 Storytelling

The Investigation of Web 2.0 Storytelling

The art of Storytelling has existed since the beginning of the human race. Even the begin of the human race has its own stories. Through Christianity or any religion one has chosen to believe, there are stories that are told that feeds readers backstory. In another case, William Shakespeare was a master behind the wall of storytelling. He would use the theatrical approach with his stories. Stories are told over campfires. They are told through lyrics of a song. Dealing with everyday life, we tell stories without being aware. It is because of these stories, the evidence of historic events exist. However, not everything in the history books are the truth.

Motion pictures tell stories too. They use a structure that easily translates the medium to the audience . Beginning, Goal, Climax, and Resolution. These four are used in conventional storytelling. Web 2.0 storytelling is a another way of storytelling. This does not change my notion about the subject matter. As long as a story has a beginning and end, it is a story. Video games has become the new storytelling media. Plus, the gaming industry is pulling in more money than every other industry.
Video games is what Web 2.0 is using to pull inspiration from. Games like "Grand Theft Auto" puts audiences in the shoes of a gangster. The game tells a very compelling story about the character while it entertains using interaction. This enlightens the experience because you will run, jump, shoot, just like the character you are playing. Web 2.0 is a complexed version of video gaming. Some of the stories have links that you click on to get involved in the story. Other web stories look like slideshows with images that has significance in the story. Web 2.0 allows storytellers to use the digital tools to express their artistic vision. Both visual media require audiences to take part in the story instead of listening. This defeats old fashion storytelling. The world might be moving closer to a "robotic" era, but storytelling will always be the same.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this writer's site is to inform the public about movie news. The writer discusses behind the scene news on upcoming movies. The theme of his blogs work with his entries. The title "Let's complain" sums his blog page up. The writer criticizes movie news based on his personal taste. For example, he slams the news for Ghost Rider 2.
Viewers who visit this page will always be on top with upcoming films. The only thing viewers would have to worry about is his personal opinions. The writer might ruin some of the anticipated movies to come with his remarks.

The background is black and plain. The writer's voice sounds like a person in his twenties. He doesn't use a professional tone with his blogs. The writer makes his blog entries interesting by putting himself in there. For example, the writer appears to be sarcastic with some of his remarks. Peer Review

Author: John Michael Brien

PURPOSE:
The purpose of the blog is unknown. The writer comes off as retired. Since his retirement, the writer has had time to reflect on things. The writer's theme is catchy, but it does not connect with his blog entries. The writer talks about a number of things that the normal person wouldn't reflect. For example, he mentions the advertisements with juices. He makes the particular blog look like a conspiracy.
The viewers who visit his page will learn a thing or two. For instance, one of his blogs starts off with a story about a geese's honk. After the story, he uses scientific information to describe the origins of the honk. When you visit this blogger, expect to leave his page with insightful information.

STYLE
The writer is out to be informative with the public. He discusses topics more for a mature audience. The font size the writer uses is small and plain. Viewers might loose themselves in a pool of information the writer provides. However, the writer uses a formal approach with his blog entries. He has a structure that is easy to follow, but he forces readers to take in all the information. He provides hyperlinks that work and back up his claims. The voice of the writer comes off like a teacher. He uses statistics to ensure readers that he has done proper research about the subject matter. Along with the heavy information, he provides pictures that make his overall presentation nice to look at.

AlaTest site

Purpose
Alatest is a site that allows members to review the products they purchased. They have every electronic device from cameras to televisions. Creating an account on Alatest is a breeze. It takes a minute to sign up. As a member, you can also find reviews on other products. You don't need an account to view reviews. The site shares all the information with you when you go to the page. They have 7.2 million reviews from 1225 websites. They also provide a rating tool for those who don't have time to write a review. They have expert reviews along with user reviews. So if you are looking for the best buy, this site will help you with your decision.

Features
You can upload videos of your reviews. The site also provides links to other sites like Amazon to purchase reviewed products. When you look at a device, the site shows how many people looked at it and other devices they looked at. For example, I check out a Sony camera. When I had scrolled down the page, they had other viewers who looked at the same and other cameras. In a way, this expands your search for the right product. On the side of every review, they have different prices from other sites. So you can choose the best deal on the site without navigating the web.

Just like the other sites, they show different advertisements on the page. The site encourages members to upload pictures of themselves. For a site like this, pictures are not needed. This is a review site, so the only thing that matters is the reviews. Your homepage displays the last items you looked at. Since there are a ton of devices on here, this feature comes in handy.

ReverbNation pt.2

Audience
ReverbNation is a site intended for musicians, but they encourage non-musicians to participate in the promotions. As a indie artist, your fans are your vehicle. They can drive you to success or away from it. RN has made it possible for fans to help their artists in many ways. Non-musicians have something other than Facebook to be apart of now. They have a voice on RN just as the musicians. They might not get paid to promote their favorite artist, but they can say that they had a hand in it.

All communities can take part on the RN website. RN doesn't target any specific groups, they just want their site to be among the heavy hitters. Other networks have failed to ignite the underground world of music, but RN is destined to be the Facebook/Twitter of music.

Organization
The site is well organized. They offer many tools and options. These items are not hard to find on the website. For example, anything that is dealing with money is all in one column.
As you can see, RN has everything organized from Home to Account settings. Without this kind of organization, you would get lost finding stuff. At the bottom of the page, RN has even added all the links to make navigation easier.
RN is a worthy site. This can contend with the biggies. The overall experience is fresh and intuitive. Even though the site offers tutorials on how to use the tools, one can still use the tools without watching videos.

ReverbNation pt.1

Purpose
ReverbNation (RN) is a social interaction site for independent musicians. As you can see, the creator of the site combined a studio plug-in effect with the word 'nation'. Reverb is a plug-in effect used in recording. This is what the engineers use to add echos to voices and instruments. Musicians feel right at home when they come to this site. RN focuses on the independent careers of its members. For example, they help musicians earn money through on-line distribution. They help manage the money you make on-line as well.
Independent musicians can upload their songs, videos, photos, and widgets on their profile page. The site understands the difficulty of getting people to listen to your music. So they have combined their services with other networks. For example, you can post your RN song list on your Facebook profile as an application. This means that your friends can check out your music without leaving Facebook.

They have ads that they show on your profile page. Unlike Myspace music, RN shares the profit they make from the revenue with you. They call it Fair share. The more people you get to visit your site, the more money you make. I think this is really a fair deal.

This site helps musicians connect with their fan base. Instead of traveling and promoting, you can do all your marketing from home. According to their tool 'FanReach Pro', you can boost your fan base and live gigs with emails. They help you manage your fans with detailed tracking. They even have the social networks your fans belong too. You can even organize a street promotion team out of your fans. If you have fans willing to push your music, you can assemble them with the street teams tool.

Goals
In this depressing economy, ReverbNation wants indie musicians to rise. They are aware that record deals are hard to come by these days. Considering the fact that record sales are down, they know that the major labels are holding on to their moneys. As a result, they have created this site to keep dreams alive.

Other networks that allow musicians to upload their material are not fully dedicated to the artist like RN. Plus, other sites use artists to expand their advertisements. For example, myspace music manipulates their musicians by advertising through the playlist. If a fan clicks on your song, an advertisement will pop up before your song plays. This is wrong on all levels.

RN wants you as an artist to live your dream. They want to make sure that your music is heard and appreciated. The overall goal is to make money. They even allow members to invest in your music with donations. They are even willing to promote you and put money in your pocket. This shreds any suspicion of deception from RN. This is the site to use if you want to get your sound out there.

Black Planet pt.2

The members on Black Planet
Some of the members with dating profiles have seductive looking pictures than the personal profiles. For example, one of the members had a sexy profile picture. She had long hair that was all over the place, light makeup, and thin. She posed like a model for the camera. The picture does a good job luring in visitors. She had over 3,000 hits on her page. The members with personal profiles have more subtle pictures. You can tell that they are on there just browsing on the site. The ages vary from 18 to 50. President Obama has a profile on the site. His real profile is hard to tell because some members use his picture for their main photo.

Black Planet is a worthy site. This site is the BET of social interactions. When I first heard about the site in 1999, I thought it was just a dating site. But the site offers more than a dating service. BP offers everything for everyone. Every profile picture that is promoted has an age and location on it. This gives members a brief look at the person's info without clicking their page. This site has been around for a long time. Facebook and Twitter might be the heavy hitters in the war, but BP continues to stand strong. So if this wasn't worthy, I think the site would had collapsed ages ago.

Black Planet pt.1

Purposes
(BP) Black planet is a community site. This is a social interaction site intended for the African American community; but it welcomes every race with opened arms. They want to unite people all over the world. So if you are a homebody, you can meet new people without leaving your house. The site informs with News dealing with black entertainment and rumors.

Strangers can meet on this site and fall in love. BP shows how they connect strangers with testimonials from married couples.

They are able to connect this with their dating section of the site. They want to show people their compatibilities to other people with love charts. They base results from a series of Q&As to determine if two people are a match. They use percentages to match up people. The overall theme that they want to express is Love.

BP's Offers
They offer two kinds of profile pages. BP's personal profiles allow people to make new friends. Creating a profile is easy and user friendly. You can customize your page with background templates provided by the site.

You can promote yourself or your business with a profile page. You can upload pictures and show off your looks. They offer IM (Instant Messaging) for those who like live chats. The dating section of the site has a different set of features than the personal section. They offer daters to browse other daters based on preferences. For example, if you don't want to date people with kids, you can add it to your preference. They have member points that you earn from using the site. You can use the points to buy gifts and email them to other members. You can send crushes and add members on a favorites' list. In conclusion, BP wants visitors to have the best experience every visit.

Sampling is my job...

As a sound designer, I have to be able to design sounds from scratch. I have to make noises to flush out other noises. For example, if there is a video of a guy cutting onions, I have to record myself cutting onions. If I don't have onions, I have to cut something else in the kitchen like apples or carrots to get that cutting sound. This is the longest but efficient way of sound designing. The golden rule is to use the cheapest source for sound.

But if I had to use a big budget sound like two cars exploding, I would record the sound from a film or video game. I could also download it from a sound library. I borrow from these things when the going gets tough. In the real world, these companies had money and access to the real sounds on location. Once they capture the sound, they just alter it to make it work.

Sampling in music is a little different. Some hip-hop producers like Kayne West sampled old records and made them hits. Legally, he had to get permission from the authors or else he would get sued. When money is involved, that is when it becomes a problem. I think this kind of sampling does not display skill. It shows your lack of confidence in originality. Some might not care about that. So if you can get permission and make money of it, go ahead and knock yourself out.
I stray away from sampling other music to make music because of the procedures. I wouldn't even know where to begin contacting the author. If he or she wanted money in advance for their music, I wouldn't be able to pay up. I could sample and ignore contacting the author, but the minute I make money of it, a law suit will be handed to me. These reasons make me stay making music from scratch.

CC vs. ©

The CC (Creative Commons) site sounds like a good idea, but this is the beginning of the end for originality. The site informed me about the new stipulations dealing with Copyrighted work. For example, I didn't know that your work is copyrighted after you create it. When you publish it, the work is already protected.

The CC is not necessary a bad thing. Now people can remix original work without getting permission from the author. The rules that the OWL (Online Writing Lab) site states are fair. For example, they state that you should purchase the work before altering it. This ensures that the author gets something out of it.

There were two systems authors would use to protect their work. The Poor man's copyright and the library of congress system. For the poor man, you would mail your work to yourself stamped and dated. When the package arrived, you would store it unopened in your house. This proof of authorship was inexpensive, but it wouldn't hold up in court.

The Copyright Office used to be responsible for protecting an author's work legally. They would collect fourty-five dollars to file your application. This used to be the procedure. But now your work is protected after it has been created. This way works out for the independent author.

The rise of the amateurs

Amateurism

What's the difference between a rookie and an amateur? Both might mean the same thing, but they are slightly different. A rookie is somebody who is trained in a field, but they lack the experience. An amateur is a beginner who is just starting out in a field, with a little prior knowledge. Sites like Wikipedia has given amateurs a chance to shine along with the professionals. The organization does not have to employ these writers, so the site is made out of volunteers.
Wiki might be saving money, but some of the information being spread on the site is not accurate. These authors might be teenagers leading or misleading readers. This balances the board experts and the amateurs stand on. According to Marshall Poe, he states that the info amateurs post is not exactly knowledge; it's common knowledge. Street smarts can pass for common knowledge. For example, in the movie "Slum Dog Millionaire" an uneducated peasant wins the Who wants to be a Millionaire contest. He was arrested because he answered every question right. Teachers, lawyers, and doctors lose all the time on the show. These are people that are educated. So they thought the peasant cheated.

This is the case between experts and non-experts. This is equivalent to buying material from any market. A Sony radio will work just like a regular radio. If you want to purchase the Sony radio based on expertise, you will have to pay more. Buying a regular radio is going to be less and it will still work. As long as either radio works, there shouldn't be a problem. The same thing goes for information that is right. Should it matter where the information came from? As long as it answers questions correctly, I think the voice of the amateurs belong in the digital world.

Citizen Journalists

A non journalist can be a journalist without a degree. If I saw an article posted by non journalist, I would assume that they got their report from another source. In the ideal world, a journalist has access to places that civilians don't. They have permits, badges, and special parking privileges that allow them to report to us. They are reporting real events as they happen. They are risking their life to feed the mini tape recorders and note pads.

If a non journalist is relying on the internet for information, then this is not journalism. But if they encountered an event; they would write the whole truth. A journalist takes orders, and they will edit information to cover the truth. They have information that people depend on daily. As long as their credited as a journalist, I think their words hold more power than the non journalist.

According to Al Saracevic, he states that "bloggers don't go to jail for their work." This means that you can blog about government secrets and nothing will happen to you. But as a journalist, they have to abide by the Journalistic Code. Failure to do so can put him or her in a pool of trouble. This separates the real from the phonies. In this case, degrees and expertise does matter. There is a structure that goes for journalism. How would you know this structure if you have never learned how to report news effectively?

Plagiarism is a bad thing! Right?

What is plagiarism? In my words, this is when you as an author steals written material and treat the material like its your own. Before the world wide web, there were books that contained all the information. So if a student wanted to plagiarize, he would have to write the material down word by word. But since the student would have to write it down, he or she might not copy every single word. Unless the student is just desperate and has time to steal.

In the web world, all one has to do is copy and paste. This takes a micro second. You would think that people would give credit to the author, but they don't. They want to sound smart or be smart like the person they are stealing from. I agree that this copy and paste system is the new age of digital authorship. You don't have to credit the information you take.

As time flies, plagiarism is plaguing the literal world. Its up to the educational institutions to track down these word thieves. But the schools can't stop them all. The authors that produce material might as well make a site like Wiki. Since these amateurs wanna take your two sense and add it along theirs, why not help them?

Open your ears, I mean your eyes.

Some people don't research the material they encounter. They just go with the program. They assume that the material is correct, so they acknowledge the author for it. For example, Yahoo Answers is a site that people log on to ask questions randomly.

The problem comes in when the questions are answered by anyone with fingers. He or she might not have the proper expertise about the subject. Who is to blame for this abomination? The creators of the interactive forums or the new age digital authors? One would have to blame both. People are easily mislead with the wrong information. This is when the audience isn't listening, but participating. Gibson's theory plays a role here. So if someone copies and pastes an answer, the audience are going to participate with answers of their own.

Blog Design Templates

Minima Dark
This is my original template for my PB. My blogging site is called S.W.A.T which stands for Stating With Aggressive Truth. I chose this template because the black background gives this site an attitude. The title font is in green letters. This adds a militant feel to my blogs. The black background goes well with the green font. Although the message is written in white, it does not distract you from the overall theme. The army colors are black, green, and brown. This works well with my theme when you look at it from this perspective.

Jellyfish
My site is called S.W.A.T. This template pulls the militant power away from that. It replaces the serious tone with some cartoonish features. As you can see, my border title no longer contains capital letters. The page has become brighter and happier. When you look at army photos, the soldiers rarely smile. You can't expect soldiers to smile after tough training and fighting in the war. The demeanor is meant to be serious. As you can see ladies and gentleman, this makes a mockery out of my original theme. The hyperlinks now are pink, and it really pokes fun at the seriousness. The colors bounce all over the place, and it gives a sense of disorganization. The message describing the site is bright. You would have to squint or come closer to read it.

Scribe
This template works with my theme. This does not have a militant feel, but it looks presentable. By presentable, the page looks informative. Compared to the Jellyfish, this adds realism to the theme. The background borders are brown, the page itself is light brown, and the border title matches with the border. Even the hyperlinks are brown. In other words, the colors are well coordinated. Instead of random colors splashing over the place, this has a sense of order. The title itself is underlined for importance, which adds style to it.

Top 5 Blog Tips

Tip 5) Make sure you are knowledgeable about the subject you present.

Reason: It’s hard to get people to follow you. People do not have time to waste. The first words should get them hooked. Especially, since human beings have an urge to want things right away. This is why Mcdonalds has a drive thru, Comcast has hi-speed, and Pizza Hut delivers pizzas. Do you expect people to follow a dumb individual? You will look like a real A-hole if someone comments on your blog with better facts. All the viewers would just follow that person due to your mistake. So remember, don’t blog about something without proper research. You will look like A-hole for wasting everybody’s precious time.

Tip 4) Know your market, your audience sorta speak.

Reason: You have to give people what they want. For example, a clown gets paid more for using balloons and a mini tricycle. He feels like carrying the tricycle is too much work. So he shows up with balloons instead. The people that hired him would have a fit. They might pay him less or refuse to pay. The clown would have nobody to blame, but himself. In this case, the customer is always right. You need them to thrive in the world of business. In the blogging world, if your followers demand a certain subject. Give it to them. Don’t try to switch your routine because you’re tired of your theme. You are not blogging for yourself, you are blogging for your followers. They believe in your words, so why switch it up? My dad always told me “if it is not broken, don’t fix it.” Unless, your followers demand something else, don’t make the mistake on introducing new material outside the box.

Tip 3) Use a unique font, especially big letters. The size should be around 18-20 pt.

Reason: Your followers follow you because they believe in your words. What about the new viewers? They don’t know anything about you. They are just strangers passing by. They are browsing to see who they should follow. The majority are going to glance at your page. If your font is too little, you are forcing readers to squint too much. They are in a hurry. They don’t have time to squint. They have 50 other blogs to look at before they log off. You might have the exact insight viewers are looking for, but they can easily miss it with a small font. The bigger the font, the bolder your information looks. So when viewers pass by, a simple word or sentence can catch his or her eye. Who knows? They could be your next group of followers.

Tip 2) Insert as many images and videos to back up your blog.

Reason: Images and videos can enhance a preexisting page by 50%. This is a huge increase when you look at it. These items provide flavor for your blog. Plus, these are your tools of evidence. “The absence of evidence is the evidence of absence”--Samuel L. Jackson in “The Boondocks”. Evidence is important just as the oxygen in a court room. Without it, most guilty people are set free. When you are blogging about a controversial topic, you need evidence to back it up. If you have videos or images that back up your claim, people will believe in your word. Plus, when you toss around images and videos, it makes the overall page look good. People are intrigued more with visual components anyway.

Tip 1) Last and not least. The most important tip for a successful blog is a custom or eye candy background design template.

Reason: “Image is everything, so obey your thirst”--Sprite’s slogan. If your content is not intriguing at all, your design template might do some justice for you. This is the first thing viewers see when they click on your page. The flashier your page, the better. If you put in a lot of time to make your page look good, people will appreciate your blog spot more. Some won’t. If your design goes along with your theme, it gives the impression that you put a lot of thought into it. This adds professionalism to your blog page. A custom design template will separate you from the rest of the bunch. You might have a few bloggers out there who might browse just to look at designs. The trick is to hook them while they are on your site. if you don’t hook them and they leave your site, your page will be forgotten.

Blog review 1

"Logical Authors and their Audiences"

AUTHOR
I like Authors who think outside the box. There is nothing more entertaining than conspiracies that make sense. An author should provide enough evidence to back up his or her theory. This piece that I chose has one author. He is a male who believes that Aliens exist in the universe.

The language he uses is English and he resides in the United States. There is nothing that gives away his ethnicity or age. The author does not seem to have a sense of humor. He is straight forward with the information. I have a sense of humor and I like the authors I encounter to have it too. But this subject matter has no room for jokes. So I can allow the seriousness from this author.

He doesn't try to convince his audience that aliens exist. He assumes that his readers believe in the subject matter, so he dives right in with information. The author seems to be educated. His vocabulary box is overfilled with words. I had to look up some of the words for understanding. He provides images that were shot using thermal vision. Here is an author extending the truth with images that you rarely see. When you look at the images, you can see the shapes of the heads. He even goes into detail explaining what the images look like at the bottom of each one. The thermal imagery makes it hard to view the images clearly. The author does a good job getting his point across, and he posts daily with his theories.

AUDIENCE
I consider myself to be a 'thinker' among the 'stinkers'. In other words, people who still believe that we are just here and not on a planet called Earth are the 'stinkers'. They stink the atmosphere with idiotic wisdom. The author's intended audience are those that believe in other beings living in the universe. For the non-believers, he has videos of witnesses claiming that they saw an UFO in their area.
The piece blogged makes it unclear about the demographical target. But if I had to choose one, it would be the older generation. The younger generation might not understand this piece because of the author's lingo. The audience intended seems to be in the United States. This piece felt limited. The subject of Aliens is a worldly topic, but the author targets the U.S.A. Everybody has a stereotypical image of aliens. Big head and eyes is associated with these beings. The author provides the audience with images that might change their perception.

Blog Review

"Therealworldno.blogspot.com"

First impressions are based on your appearance all the time. If you dress poorly, it projects that you don't love yourself. If you loved yourself, you would groom and dress yourself with class. If you don't love yourself, then how can you expect people to love you.
This is the same with blogs. If you have misspelled words floating around like helium balloons, then your blog cannot be taken serious.

The blogs that interest me are the ones that have all the right spellings and I can learn from it. The author that I have been following does this with style. The page layout is in black and the letters are in yellow. The letters scream for attention holding substantial information. The author stays on top with his theories. He supplies videos with alien images to back up his theories. The videos clarify his fight more than his words.

The author makes his theories universal for anybody to read. He doesn't direct his piece to a specific culture. He tries to enlighten all the minds, because the subject of aliens is world wide. If there should be any war between aliens and mankind, the world would have to fight not just the United States. His choice of videos makes his page presentable and worthy. This isn't a guy who is just make believing in front of his desktop.

The author even adds a link on his page directing to the infamous facebook. He has his own group of followers outside of the blog spot. This brings the seriousness to his discussions. He is trying to reach as many people as he can. He even has more links that direct people to other discussions about Ufos and Aliens on his page. The list he has covers up the majority on the right side of his page. The author also has a missing person flasher on his page. I don't know if he is trying to suggest that aliens abducted them, but at least he cares about missing people.

Spying is deceiving

Can someone remind me what satellites are meant for again? Are the lights there to broadcast frequencies that enable our cellphones to work or do they send signals that make wireless routers work? Maybe there is more to it then we have been informed. Google earth is a website that allows you to look at any home around the world. All one has to do is input an address and a still picture of the home pops up on your screen. You can zoom in or out. If normal civilians can have access to this, I wonder what the government have access too?

I found another author who has theories of his own. He believes that the satellites in the skies hold secrets. They are actively watching the public. He uses a lot of sarcasm to provide information. You can tell that he is a wise-cracking guy. Most people that write or talk about this kind of thing are dead serious about the subject. But the author's sense of humor is used in an intelligent way. For example, his heading displays that all conspiracies, tips, suggestions, and comments are welcome, even insults. He even puts his email address in the heading. This allows readers to feel comfortable. You can assume to find some simplicity reading his piece. Most conspiracies are complexed and some readers can get lost in the translation.

The author's whole design from top to bottom exposes the truth about the government. The background he has is not flashy, just plain white. The blog that I followed did not have a single picture posted. But he did have a money toll counting for the budget spent on the Irag war. he had it posted on the side of his page. He claims that $420,000,000,000 was the cost in 2007. Below the cost, he has another one actively counting. More than likely, the toll on the bottom is a visual loop. But it shows his determination to inform the public about the budget crisis. He even added an Amazon.com that lists some books on the subject matter. In other words, he allows the readers to seek some truth themselves. Since he posted his email, he shows his willingness to learn discoveries others have found.
He is aware of his audience's intelligence. In a way, he understands that some people might not catch on, so he uses analogies to describe how the government operates. The average Joe would be able to understand his theory this way. He explains the government's plan with metaphors. He should have used the term 'spy machine' to break it down to those who are dumb witted. His argument points out how they want to shoot down the satellites before it collapses. The government fear that the machine can land anywhere spilling secrets. He states that the satellites have been advanced that they can see through walls and roofs. The author is on the ball with his facts. Here are some images from the movie "The Dark Knight"
^^^^^^^--> The image that I have arrows pointed to is the device Batman uses. He can locate specific voices through images. As long as you are on a cellphone, he can see your movements and pinpoint your exact location. This was a subliminal message for audiences. They showed people that the technology was possible. The author does not mention this, but I will email him this picture to help enlighten his theory. He offers statistics that the news won't share with the public. For example, he talks about the toxic levels from the debris during 911. You can tell that he has been well informed. He makes it known that he will continue to research by telling us to continue looking at the skies.

Conspiracies hold truth

The habitants of today's world are clueless about what is going. Modern day technology and the News have everybody feeling comfortable. They are comfortable to a point where if one reveals the truth to them, they simply ignore it with a brick wall of ignorance. We have all been comfortable before. When one is comfortable, he or she does not want to be 'bothered'. In other words, people do not want to be bothered with the truth. For example, Michael Moore's infamous movie Fahrenheit 911 provides evidence that George Bush Jr. was apart of the 'terrorist attacks'. After the movie, the world was still convinced that Bin Laden was the one behind it.

I found a author who also reads between the lines with inquisitive intellect. He believes that the media destroys some of the world's greatest athletes with drug accusations. Unlike my theories, he specializes in the doping scandals. Media Reports is the terminology he uses to express his theories. His intended audience are the 'thinkers' who think out the box. He is not trying to persuade people to believe his theory, this is more of an informing approach. I believe that the simple minded people of this world, won't know where to begin understanding the content of his blogs.

He has a plain white background. I feel that he chose it to prevent distraction from the truth. The plain white background works because it has a serious tone to it. He lets readers know that he can care-less about his blog design. The blogger's page looks informative and has the same style internet news have. The author's writing style might confuse some. The reason why is because he doesn't write in a essay form. He throws stuff around and it is hard to follow the main argument. However, his main focus exposes the scandal dealing with these hardworking athletes. He provides pictures of the subjects he addresses. He labels the pictures with accurate time, place, and date. He claims that the car accident of Usain Bolt was a failed execution attempt.

The author claims that they tried to physically harm Bolt since they couldn't get his blood sample. He states that the reason why they want the blood sample is to trick the athlete into competing again. So when they compete again, thats when the accusations come. This time they will have proof that enhanced drugs were detected, because the doctors/scientist have been sabotaging the blood samples. By doing so, they promote the power of the enhanced drug.

The author has a outline method of getting his facts out. He uses a numeric system stating the facts about the scandals. His piece is well organized. One would think he was a journalist the way he states his facts. He stresses that the media want to promote drugs by damaging the reputation of the athletes. He never addresses why they want to promote drugs; especially, since they are illegal in the first place. He provides links to the news articles baffling readers about the scandals. The author needs to clarify his claims more to make a powerful impact.

Material Communication

One would think that 'Communication' only happens between human beings, animals, and devices. Basically, living things. All though devices might not be considered as 'living' , if you look closer to them, you will see that they are. For example, your car key holds 'life'. When you insert your key in the ignition, your car turns on. The car becomes alive. The engine and all the parts communicate with one another. When you put your car in reverse, it reverses. Your automatic stick communicates to the gears that you as a Driver wants to back out. The gears recieves the message and your car backs out. The communication is not heard through voices, but the noises your car makes is equivalent to a stock market place. When your engine sputters, it is telling you the Driver that something is wrong. Which explains why mechanics always start your car to 'hear' what is wrong with it. Mechanics speak the car language, that is why they are mechanics. This is communication when you look at it from this perspective.

In another case, commuincation also happens with non-living things. For example, the way you dress can communicate to others what kind of person you are. If you wear dirty clothes with holes in them, one would assume that you are a bum. On the other hand, if you wear suits and ties all the time, then it can be assume that you are a business man. When you think about it, it is another form of 'communication' in a non-verbal way.

In the world of articles and magazines, authors use red or bold letters to scream for attention. According to Michale Moore's book/article "Idiot Nation", he addresses that America is a country full of idiots. Through his statistics, a large percentage of Americans don't read. He claims that most have drowned in the media world, and nobody has time to read the paper or books. Especially, in a world like today where everything is digitized, it is hard to go back to the 'physical' world where eveything could be touched, tortured, you get the idea.

As a marketing strategy, the red or bold letters used in any publication digital or not can attract more viewers than plain letters. So if Michale Moore's theory is right, then that will mean that authors who compose material have to get their hands dirty dealing with the 'illiterate' world. By getting their hands dirty, they have to false advertise or get to the point quickly. For example, Walmart always emphasizes on how customers will save when they shop. "Pay less, Save more" is in red letters and the Walmart name is in white. They would rather sell their slogan first before the name. Since the economy is in bad shape, their tactic works. People wanna get more without spending a fortune. Walmart is able to uphold their word with their low prices. Which explains why they are the dominant force in the market business.
